Software Engineer [Multiple Positions Available]

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or in a related field of study plus seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, Systems Developer, or in a related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or in a related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, Systems Developer, or in a related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Implementing web and server-side components, involved in all phases of design, development, testing and deploying applications to production; Designing and developing highly scalable, efficient & robust distributed software solutions using technologies such as Java and J2EE & Python programming languages; Utilizing Postgres, Oracle and AWS S3 as relational and non-relational databases; Deploying applications on public cloud AWS platform utilizing EKS, ECS, docker, Kubernetes, and Karpenter; Building different micro services with event driven architecture using frameworks like spring, spring boot, spring integration, JPA, SQS and Kafka, as well as distributed caching technologies such as Redis cache and Ehcache; Reverse engineering monolith legacy applications written in informatica ETL and Sybase database and then re-writing these processes with event driven architecture; Migrating existing on-premises distributed workloads to public cloud; Schedule Autosys and ControlM jobs; Writing code and unit and integration test using Test Driven Development (TDD) methodology and frameworks like JUnit, Mockito, H2 database for unit and integration testing; Provisioning AWS public cloud resources such as EKS, ECS clusters, RDS Postgres database instances, S3 buckets, SQS and Kafka messaging channels using terraform scripting modules; Continuous code deployments using Jenkins and harness; Building tools to develop, UAT and production environments adhering to firm wide policies; Writing search queries using Splunk to monitor daily application performance and dashboards; Ensuring production environment stability using monitoring tools as Datadog, Splunk and Dynatrace; Participating in daily agile scrum activities using JIRA (coordination tool); and Supporting user acceptance testing.

Full-Time. Salary:  $195,300-$215,000 per year.
