Title:
Software Engineer, SpecialistKBR is looking for a specialist-level Software Engineer to support the development and maturation of USAF open architecture standards. Our team leads the charge in architecture development, maturation, and coordination for multiple high-profile programs.
Specific tasks:
Instantiate, develop, and mature open architecture software in a KBR environmentProduce and brief demonstrations of open architecture core software and architecture-compliant capabilitiesAbility to quickly understand and navigate complex systems with established code basesA desire to work on critical software that has a real-world impactPerforms all activities associated with the design, development, implementation, maintenance, configuration management and quality control of software for scientific/engineering applicationsPerform internal testing of software products. Respond to and resolve software discrepancies against documented requirementsParticipates in the design, development, and utilization of scientific/engineering electronic data processing systems softwareProvides analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of software for products such as utility software, development software, and diagnostic softwareParticipates in the development of engineering test strategies, devices and systemsRequired Skills:
Active TOP SECRET clearance Experience with C++ development in a Linux environmentExperience with modern commercial software development practices using tools like GitLab, Jira, Artifactory, and NexusExperience with collaborative software development in either open source or professional team environments.Preferred Skills:
Government acquisition program experienceSAP experienceExperience with MBSE and design activitiesFamiliarity with modern software development tools, languages, and techniquesFamiliarity with existing DoD open architectures, such as OMSKnowledge of military systems and operational tacticsDeveloping software/hardware for flight systemsRequired Education:
BS in engineering or computer science and 2 years of related experience
Required Experience:
2+ years in C++ software development
Preferred Experience:
2+ years in software development in a classified working environment
