Software Development Project Manager
**CAST.ERA is seeking a highly effective Software Development Project Manager** to oversee the continued development of Sinclair Broadcast Group’s ATSC 3.0 Data Distribution-as-a-Service (DDaaS) platform. In this role, the Project Manager is responsible for coordinating the efforts of a software development team composed of both internal and external contributors, while actively engaging stakeholders from across the broadcast television industry. The ideal candidate will apply proven project management methodologies to ensure that development efforts are completed on time, within scope, and to a high standard of quality. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple stakeholder expectations and guide development in alignment with strategic objectives. **This is an in-office position based at Sinclair’s headquarters in Hunt Valley, MD** , working five days per week. However, occasional work-from-home flexibility is available with manager approval. **Responsibilities Include:** + Lead end-to-end project management of software development initiatives using Agile/Scrum methodologies. + Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. + Collaborate closely with Product Owners, developers, QA, UX/UI, and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables. + Maintain and communicate clear project plans, risks, issues, and dependencies using Atlassian products. + Ensure teams are productive, well-aligned, and able to deliver iterative, high-quality software releases. + Remove impediments and help resolve team conflicts, roadblocks, or resource constraints. + Track and report on project metrics such as velocity, burn-down charts, and sprint outcomes. + Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability. + Help balance project priorities against business goals, technical constraints, and team capacity. + Responsible for meeting project deadlines, coordinating and facilitating cross-team collaboration, and ensuring the successful deployment of the platform and related initiatives. **Skills and Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Minimum of 5 years managing software development projects, including at least 2 years in an Agile environment. + Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and the software development lifecycle (SDLC). + Proficiency with project management tools especially Atlassian products. + Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. + Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced setting. + Experience working with distributed or remote teams is a plus. + Agile or Scrum certifications (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMI-ACP) + Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. + Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities. + A proactive mindset with a strong sense of accountability and follow-through. + A desire for continuous learning and professional growth. **Preferred candidates will have:** + Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification. + Experience in both Waterfall and Agile/Lean methodologies. The base salary compensation range for this role is **$130,000 to $150,000.** Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
