We're on a mission to make it easy for Amazon's builders to care for our customer's personal data. You'll come help envision and deliver the future of privacy tools used by tens-of-thousands of developers and privacy specialists throughout the company and lead a team of engineers to take us there!
Key job responsibilities
Lead a software team that owns privacy governance tools used by engineers, privacy specialists and leaders across the company. Develop and execute on a vision to drive assurance automation and simplify the builder experience.
A day in the life
Here's a sample of what this role entails:
* lead a team of software engineers through everything from from annual planning through to operations
* identify and champion improvements to how the team operates
* collaborate with product managers and designers to envision future capabilities
* collecting feedback from a very diverse range of stakeholders - engineers, privacy specialists and lawyers, just to name a few
* partner with senior and principal engineers and TPMs to define the team's target architecture and a strategy to get there
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
