Software Development Engineer in Test II

The SDET will be part of the Viewpoint team at Trimble and play a key role in ensuring software quality through automation, regression testing, and scalable test frameworks. You will work in an Agile environment, supporting both mobile (iOS/Android) and web applications, building robust test suites using modern QA tools and technologies. This role demands a hands-on approach to automation using C#, working closely with developers, product owners, and testers to maintain high standards for software releases.

You will be responsible for implementing test strategies, automating key scenarios, and improving CI/CD testing workflows for the Viewpoint solutions that power construction productivity across the globe.
 

What You Will Do

Develop and maintain automated test scripts using C#, Appium, Selenium, and relevant frameworks

Build and maintain automation frameworks for web and mobile platforms (iOS and Android)

Leverage tools like Sauce Labs for cross-platform testing at scale

Collaborate closely with developers, QA engineers, and product owners to define test strategy and acceptance criteria

Design and execute functional, regression, performance, and integration tests for RESTful APIs and UI workflows

Set up and maintain test environments, mobile simulators, and CI test pipelines

Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and release retrospectives

Analyze test results, identify defects, and work with engineering teams to resolve issues

Maintain traceability from requirements to test cases and defects

Generate test metrics and dashboards to track quality over time

Recommend and implement process improvements for test automation and release quality

Skills & Experience You Should Have

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

3+ years of experience in SDET roles with a strong focus on automation

Proficient in automation using C# , silenium (NUnit, MSTest, or similar frameworks)

Hands-on experience with Appium and Selenium for mobile and web test automation

Experience testing mobile apps on both iOS and Android platforms

Working knowledge of tools like Sauce Labs, BrowserStack, or similar cross-platform environments

Strong understanding of Agile development, sprint testing, and CI/CD

Solid experience with regression testing and defect lifecycle management

Familiarity with REST APIs and automation testing for backend services (e.g., using REST Assured or Postman)

Experience with source control (Git), test case management tools (TestRail, Zephyr), and issue tracking systems (JIRA)

Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills

You will be embedded within the Viewpoint engineering team, contributing to the quality and reliability of Trimble’s enterprise software suite for the construction industry. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and success of construction professionals by ensuring smooth, defect-free releases of mission-critical tools and workflows. You will collaborate with experienced engineers working on:

Full-stack systems using C#, ASP.NET Core/Framework, Angular, Azure Services, and Microservices

RESTful and OData APIs backed by SQL Server

CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps workflows

Reporting Structure

This role reports to a Technical Project Manager, Engineering Manager, or designated team lead within the Viewpoint team.
