As a Software Development Analyst II, you will support the U.S. Missile Defense System through the development of Modeling and Simulation applications used in warfighter training, concept evaluation, and engineering testing.
ResponsibilitiesResearch technical details related to missile defense systems to support model creation and enhancement.Analyze new capabilities, document new features, and evaluate simulation performance.Collaborate with product and development teams, external users, and customers to determine acceptance criteria for new features.Develop software tools to support MDST benchmarking, anchoring, and Verification and Validation activities.Create Verification and Validation documentation.Support modeling and simulation of missile defense systems.Work within an agile software team and contribute to larger team efforts.Aid in the development of simulation and software architectures.Interface with MDST customers to provide technical support and resolve issues.Deliver technical briefings to MDST stakeholders.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related experience, or Master's Degree in a STEM discipline.Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Familiarity with Agile software development practices.Understanding of software development on Linux platforms.Experience with C++ or Python source code.Knowledge of MATLAB or similar analysis software.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with OPIR system simulations.Proficiency in agile software development methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.Knowledge and experience in SQL queries.Experience with large code base MS systems using optimistic/conservative discrete event simulation.Expertise in missile defense domain knowledge, command and control, and modeling and simulation development.Familiarity with Atlassian tools, such as JIRA and Confluence.Work Environment
The role is fully onsite at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado, with a 9/80 schedule. Work within a fast-paced environment that involves high expectations and diverse assignments, fostering collaboration across all levels of the team.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
