If you’re looking for a new challenge, we’d love to hear from you. **About the Job…** As a **Full-Stack Software Developer II** , you’ll work on a cross-functional team focused on enhancing the CNN.com user experience. Your team is composed of Technical, Design, and Product leads, along with engineers who collaborate closely throughout planning, development, code review, and deployment. In this role, you’ll contribute to feature development, write high-quality code, participate in peer reviews, and support the operational lifecycle of our products. **What You’ll Do…** + Contribute to full-stack software development in a collaborative, agile environment. + Write clean, maintainable code using JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and responsive design principles. + Develop and maintain React-based features and components. + Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos. + Write and maintain unit tests using frameworks like Jest, Jasmine, or Mocha. + Learn from and collaborate with peers to continuously grow your engineering skills. **Must Haves…** + Strong experience with **JavaScript** and **React** - this is foundational to the role and critical for success on our team. + **3-5 years of professional JavaScript experience** in a full-time Software Engineering role. + Strong commitment to writing testable, high-quality code. + Curiosity and a growth mindset - you’re eager to take on new challenges and learn continuously. + Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical teammates. + Proactive, feedback-friendly attitude with a passion for improving the codebase. + Enthusiasm for contributing positively to CNN’s culture - from teamwork to technical quality. **Nice to Haves…** + Experience with video technologies. + Understanding of engineering best practices, design patterns, code reviews, testing, and alerting. + Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms. + Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL, DynamoDB). + Exposure to modern programming languages, frameworks, APIs, or SDKs. + Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. **How We Get Things Done…** This last bit is probably the most important!
