Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is building out the next generation of its Dev/Test Lab automation systems to support faster, more scalable, and more reliable infrastructure testing. We are looking for a Principal Member of Technical Staff to own key technical areas and deliver high-impact systems that streamline the provisioning, automation, and management of lab environments.

As a principal engineer, you will lead design and implementation of services and tooling that orchestrate hardware test cycles, collect test telemetry, and integrate lab systems with OCI’s broader infrastructure and test frameworks. You will contribute to platform architecture, ensure operational excellence, and drive continuous improvements in reliability and developer experience.

You’ll collaborate closely with hardware teams, QA, and infrastructure engineering to ensure test labs can adapt to evolving hardware SKUs, service requirements, and CI/CD pipelines. You will mentor engineers, uphold high development standards, and contribute to long-term roadmap planning for test lab infrastructure.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 8+ years of software development experience, including significant contributions to infrastructure or automation systems. Experience designing and developing scalable automation platforms, test orchestration systems, or infrastructure control planes. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or C++. Familiarity with hardware provisioning workflows, lab operations, or device management at scale. Experience with DevOps tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and observability systems. Ability to balance near-term deliverables with long-term architectural direction. Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to lead collaborative design efforts.
