We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Deployment Specialist (Active Secret Clearance Required) with in-depth expertise in container-based delivery and CI/CD software pipelines, particularly utilizing tools such as Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, and OpenShift. You will be responsible for deploying, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing containerized applications across multiple environments, ensuring high availability, scalability, and resilience. This role is critical in supporting our development and operations teams in delivering software efficiently, securely, and reliably to our customers.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and manage containerized application deployments using Podman and OpenShift.Develop and maintain deployment pipelines (CI/CD) using tools such as Azure, GitLab, and Jenkins.Work closely with development teams to containerize applications and ensure consistency across environments.Create and manage Help charts and Kubernetes manifests for streamlined deployment and configuration.Monitor and optimize resource usage, scalability, and performance of Kubernetes clusters.Troubleshoot deployment issues, container orchestration failures, and networking configurations.Implement and maintain security best practices for container environments.Maintain a cybersecurity body of evidence for each software delivery.Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineering, QA, and product operations.

Basic Qualifications:

Clearance & Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen. Must have an active Secret Clearance with TS/SCI eligibility.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (additional experience accepted in lieu of degree)

Experience: 

3+ years of experience in software deployment, DevOps, or infrastructure rolesExperience with Docker containerization.Experience deploying and managing workloads in Kubernetes (self-managed or cloud-hosted).Experience with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).Experience with CI/CD pipeline development and automation.Experience with configuration management and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.Experience with networking, DNS, firewalls, and load balancing in container environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

Active TS/SCI ClearanceCertification in Kubernetes (CKA, CKAD). Experience with Kubernetes service meshes (e.g., Istio)Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud container deployments (AWS, GCP, Azure)Knowledge of security compliance standards (e.g., SOC2, ISO 27001) as applied to container deployments and software applications

This is a hybrid remote position in Carlsbad, CA- the selected candidate will be required to work in the office at least 3 days per week.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week

Basic Compensation: $94,000-$1410,000. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
