Role-Snowflake Architect
Experience Level: 12+ year
UST is seeking a hands-on Snowflake Architect to design, implement, and optimize Snowflake-based data architectures. This role involves leading end-to-end migration initiatives, building data pipelines, and delivering high-performance data platforms using tools like DBT, SQL, Apache Airflow, and modern ETL/ELT frameworks. Ideal candidates will blend deep technical expertise with consulting skills to drive engineering excellence and client success.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute data warehouse migrations to Snowflake from platforms like Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, and Redshift.
Architect scalable and secure Snowflake solutions optimized for performance, cost, and business use cases.
Design and build data models and transformation pipelines using DBT and SQL.
Develop and orchestrate ETL/ELT workflows using Apache Airflow and data ingestion tools.
Build reusable frameworks and automation scripts for data transformation and ingestion.
Work closely with client stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver technical strategies.
Manage performance tuning, data partitioning, workload optimization, and automation in Snowflake.
Define and implement data architecture best practices, including Git-based code management, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
Mentor client and internal teams, providing guidance on design, development, and reviews.
Required Skills & Experience
10+ years in data engineering or architecture, with at least 3–4 years of hands-on Snowflake experience.
Proven experience in migrating traditional data platforms to Snowflake.
Strong expertise in DBT (Data Build Tool): including macros, modular modeling, testing, and documentation.
Advanced SQL development and query optimization skills.
Proficient in Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.
Deep knowledge of ETL/ELT design, automation, and monitoring strategies.
Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and their data services.
Comfortable in client-facing roles, leading workshops, demos, and solutioning sessions.
Proficient with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and preferably infrastructure-as-code tool
