Social Worker MSW Behavioral Health

LOCATION:  HealthTexas Provider Network, 2021 N MacArthur Blvd, MOB II Suite 210,  Irving, TX 75061

DEPARTMENT:  Behavioral Health, Social Worker, MSW and/or LCSW. The Social Worker will see patients 18 years through geriatric age. Patients are largely uninsured or underinsured with chronic health issues.

SHIFT:  Fulltime, days, Monday thru Friday, 8am to 5pm

Job Summary

The Social Worker Behavioral Health offers evidence-based personal, group, and family counseling and therapy. This helps cope with various behavioral health issues. It coordinates services like crisis intervention, client advocacy, referrals, prevention, education, discharge planning, and psychosocial assessments.

Essential Functions of the Role

Develops a counseling relationship with people, groups, and families. Uses clinical mental health and human development standards. Gains expertise in personal problems, defines goals, and creates action plans.Conducts assessment interviews to identify problems and symptoms for diagnosis. Develops, implements, and evaluates comprehensive goal-oriented treatment plans.Partners with psychiatrists and social workers to coordinate care and refer clients to help groups and treatment facilities. Involves the patient and family in developing and implementing plans.Provides clinical counseling to people and significant others with highly diverse behavioral, psychological and/or sociological problems.Conducts singular, family, and group therapy sessions as part of treatment plans. Ensures family members engage as much as possible in each program stage.Provides crisis intervention, stabilization, and follow-up to establish that clients have received all appropriate services.Partners with other healthcare team members to help the interdisciplinary care of patients and achievement of positive outcomes.Participates in performance improvement initiatives to include data collection and review, development, and participation in continuing education programs.Maintains all documentation from referral through discharge of person served.

Knowledge of human behavior and performance includes differences in ability, personality, and interests. It also covers psychosocial methods and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.Know the standards and methods to restore or enhance social, psychosocial, or bio-psychosocial functioning of people, couples, families, groups, organizations, and communities.Listening and relational skills.Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.Advanced practice skills in the development, implementation and evaluation of treatment plans.Ability to gather, record, and evaluate data.Ability to help people in recognizing and solving problems.Ability to handle grief.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION - Masters'MAJOR - Social WorkEXPERIENCE - 2 Years of ExperienceCERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Master Social Worker Advanced Practice (LMSW-AP): Must have one of the following through the state of TX:LCSW, LMSW, LMSW-AP.
