Social Worker - MSW

The University of Pittsburgh Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a Social Worker - MSW to work with the Center for Cardiac Arrest Survival (CCAS) and Post Cardiac Arrest Service (PCAS) including but not limited to:

Community coordination for CPR initiatives including assistance with obtaining and recording background checks for community and verified responders of the PulsePoint program.

Community intervention and analysis of CPR initiatives.

Care coordination for pre- and post-discharge cardiac arrest patients.

Family and Caregiver counseling and support to co-survivors of cardiac arrest.

Screening and assessment of post cardiac arrest clinical needs.

Recruitment and enrollment in post cardiac arrest research studies.

Performs psychosocial and neuropsychological assessments of patients and families as well as project-directed qualitative interviews; presents assessment findings. Provides referrals for patients, screens individuals for research registry eligibility, develops research project materials, and provides crisis intervention counseling. Serves as a resource and assists in obtaining research grants and funding.
