Qualified Social Worker Wanted

£24 per hour | August - November Contract,

Working in Plymouth

Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable families and delivering life-changing outcomes in residential settings? We're seeking a dedicated Qualified Social Worker to join our team for a short-term contract, making a meaningful impact across two specialist family centres.

About the Role

In this vital role, you'll:

Conduct residential parental assessments in line with court/local authority timescalesSupport placement planning through care plans, risk assessments and professional collaborationDeliver structured feedback and developmental activities that empower parents to achieve safe and positive changeComplete viability assessments, contribute to service improvement, and uphold compliance with Ofsted, CQC, and statutory requirementsModel trauma-informed, person-centred practicePlay a key role in safeguarding, child protection, and working within complex family court proceedings

Person Specification
We're looking for a candidate with:

Social Work Qualification and 2+ years' experience in statutory settingsRobust knowledge of child protection legislation, family law, and safeguarding protocolsExperience working with children and families in residential servicesCommitment to equality, diversity, and non-discriminatory care practicesExcellent communication and report-writing skills

Desirable Skills

Training in PAMS, CUBAS, or similar parenting assessment frameworksUnderstanding of parental substance misuse, mental health, and other socio-economic challengesAppreciation for trauma-informed approaches and rehabilitation pathways
