Job Description

Located in the Valley of Sun in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona, GCU is a regionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian University. 

Grand Canyon University’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences seeks a Social Work Coordinator III.  The Social Work Coordinator III is responsible for the coordination of all aspects of the Social Work (BSW, MSW, Advanced Standing MSW) programs and will also supports Social Work Field Education.

What you will do:

Coordinates all aspects associated with the BSW, MSW, and Advance Standing MSW programs.

Assists social work leadership with initiatives to support the BSW, MSW and Advance Standing MSW Programs

Assist Field Director with projects related to the BSW, MSW, and Advance Standing MSW programs.

Leads all aspects associated with the Changing Lives Outreach Program. MS Office Suite

Equipment and programs needed to function in the job

Completes field course audits. Attends bi-weekly Office of Field Experience meetings with multiple departments and staff.

Provides support to the Online Faculty Chair as needed

Generates training materials for adjunct faculty, field education internship, Field Liaisons, and Field Instructors.

Attends Social Work Committee meetings as assigned.

Assists with CSWE accreditation and compliance issues as it relates to formal documents and self-study.

Supports adherence to CSWE and NASW standards and competencies.

Works collaboratively with other university departments involved in the BSW, MSW, and Advance Standing MSW programs.  

Coordinates and attends events for BSW, MSW, and Advance Standing MSW programs.

Attends meetings and takes minutes (Faculty meetings, committee meetings, etc.).

Works with various personnel to ensure the Igloo site is up to date and accurate as it relates to the BSW, MSW, and Advance Standing MSW programs.

Assist Assistant Dean with specific projects, initiatives, and other duties as needed.

What you need:

At least one-year of experience in a behavioral health position.

Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health field

Outstanding communication skills and the ability to successfully adapt to a ground and an e-learning environment.

Willingness to work in an accelerated learning format, and work in an e-learning environment with students daily.

Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, and software databases.

Must be willing to obtain training and have the capability to navigate other software (such as procurement software, and others as necessary.)

Observes and subscribes to personal and company ethics and integrity.

Must successfully pass background checks

Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
