ABOUT THE ROLE

The Social Video Creative (internally known as Social Art Director) will deliver innovative, elevated, and entertaining social video content across multiple categories, including women’s and men’s fashion, beauty, home, and tech. Reporting into the Senior Social Art Director and in direct partnership with the social team, they’ll have a background in social-first art direction and content creation, with specific experience in either fashion, beauty or home.

This is a skills based role: we are looking for a true 360 creative, who is comfortable working on projects across a broad spectrum of scales, budgets, and timelines. The successful candidate will be able to concept, shoot, style, light and edit content with a proven understanding of composition and pacing. They will enjoy working at pace, and be able to juggle multiple projects and stakeholders.

They’ll have a solid understanding of the current landscape of social media, and a true passion for creating social content. This will sit alongside an impeccable sense of taste, knowledge of broader cultural trends, and a real eye for what best-in-class creative looks like at a premium level.

Full Partnership Salary Range - £42,700 - £64,000

Expected Salary -   Up to £55,000 (dependent on experience)  

Contract type - This position is a 12 month Secondment / Fixed Term Contract

Working pattern / flexible working - The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The Creative team aims for around 2 days a week in the office to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings. 

Location -  This role is based at our London Head Office campus in Pimlico. Please note, any cost incurred as a result of travel to the office is the responsibility of the successful candidate. There is no travel allowance for this role. There is also a responsibility to visit our John Lewis branches when necessary. You will be able to claim travel expenses for these journeys.

Key responsibilities

Storyboard, shoot and edit daily content and campaigns that resonate with our online community, drives social engagement, and fits into brand tone of voice

Deliver social content from concept through to post-production. Overseeing each step of the process at pace and ensuring it is brand appropriate

Learning from previous projects, reviewing key metrics and adapting creative to generate further engagement

Work as part of a broader team consisting of social marketeers and the wider content and creative team

Keep up to date with global cultural and social trends as well as industry nuances to create innovative ideas and concepts

Working cross functionally with the wider creative team to adapt campaigns for social media

Maintain quality of work across all platforms ensuring it is to a high standard and consistent with brand tone of voice

Research and present trends within social media including possible collaborators and technology that could deliver content.

Essential skills/experience you’ll need

Proven experience in art direction for social media

Experience in social first content creation, this must include dynamic editing styles and graphic design

Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop), Final cut pro, Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, TikTok, Instagram, FB, Pinterest

Knowledge in camera operations, including lighting as well as post production including editing, grading, graphics and sound

A portfolio showing social first work ideally within the fashion, beauty or lifestyle industry

Desirable skills/experience you may have 

Cinema 4D, Adobe Audition, Illustrator, Lightroom
