Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives. The Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) is recruiting for full-time Social Services Manager 4 (underfill Social Services Manager 5) to be located in Carson City. Under the general direction of the Deputy Administrator for Administrative Services, the Social Services Manager is responsible for the administration, planning, development, public representation, organization, supervision, and management of the Confidential Address Program and Grants Management Unit, including the Statewide Victim Services Unit and grants overseeing prevention services and other activities. Responsibilities include establishing project priorities, developing staffing needs and budget projections, maintaining community provider relationships, designing an implementation plan, supervising grant program activities, development and implementation of major projects, maintaining required programmatic reports, establishing policies and procedures, monitoring program budgets, authorizing expenditures, evaluating program outcomes and redesigning programs to meet the needs of victims statewide, participating in the legislative process, including monitoring state legislation, and overseeing state plan administration and rulemaking, including amending and drafting regulations as needed. Special Requirements A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. Some positions require professional licensure or certification in a social or medical specialty issued by the appropriate licensing board in the State of Nevada, which will be identified at the time of recruitment. Incumbents must maintain professional licensure or certification in their specialty for continuing employment.
