**Job Summary**
The Marketing & Communications team is seeking a creative and analytical university student to serve as the **_Social Media & Videography Intern for Spring-Summer 2026 (January-August)._** This position is part-time during the Spring semester and full-time during the Summer. This position is **_onsite_** located in **_Columbus, Ohio._** **The application deadline is September 30, 2025 or until filled.**
The Marketing & Communications team is seeking a creative, hands-on university student to join us as a Social Media & Videography Intern for Spring-Summer 2026. This role is perfect for someone passionate about storytelling through video and social media, eager to gain real-world experience, and ready to bring fresh ideas to our team.
As a Social Media & Videography Intern, you’ll help create engaging content for platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. You’ll assist with planning, filming, and editing videos, managing social media calendars, and tracking performance metrics. This is a great opportunity to build your portfolio, learn from experienced professionals, and make an impact on real campaigns.
The role requires strong communication skills, timeliness, attention to detail, and critical thinking to ensure accuracy and continuous improvement of digital marketing efforts.
**Responsibilities**
Intern activities may include some or all of the following:
+ Create and edit content for social media, including short-form videos, graphics, and behind-the-scenes footage.
+ Support the Digital Marketing Specialists with social media scheduling and engagement, ensuring posts align with brand voice and campaign goals.
+ Lead video production, including setting up equipment, producing and editing videos, organizing files, and adding captions or simple motion graphics.
+ Analyze performance metrics for social and video content, preparing reports and sharing recommendations for improvement.
+ Perform AI and Search Engine optimization SEO, including tagging, meta data, link building and citations
+ Assist with media campaigns as needed, including Paid Search and Social Advertising
+ Work with all members of the Battelle team to resolve problems
+ Assist with email marketing campaigns promoting Battelle’s offerings
**Key Qualifications**
+ Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations or Marketing or a closely related field of study
+ Must have at least two years of college coursework complete
+ Experience creating social media content or videos for class projects, clubs, or personal channels
+ Familiarity with platforms like Instagram, Instagram, LinkedIn, and tools such as Adobe Premiere or other video editing software.
+ A strong work ethic and team mentality including professional presentation, timeliness, discipline and behavior
+ Resourcefulness and ability to work independently to problem solve
+ Must be U.S. Person by definition of U.S. export laws
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Prefer local candidates who can work part-time starting in Spring 2026 semester and full-time during Summer 2026 semester.
+ Applicants for Previous internship or experience as a Digital Marketer
+ Applicable course work in Digital Marketing
+ Strong communication and writing skills; comfortable creating original content
+ Knowledge of social media platforms and schedulers like Hootsuite and Octopost
+ Working knowledge of Google Analytics and Paid Social Advertising.
