This role will be responsible for managing, creating, and engaging with content across all CoEdu platforms and maintaining an up-to-date social calendar accessible to the team. The role will likely assist with writing, interviewing, and event photography as needed for annual publications and collaborate with other CoEdu marketing staff to brainstorm and provide feedback on production materials. The specialist will likely be asked to cover onsite activities to gather materials needed for communication channels as well as attend one weekly meeting in person. **Responsibilities** **Project Coordination:** The social media specialist controls large portions of the daily activities of all social media under the direction of the PR/Communications manager, ensuring schedules are maintained and deadlines are met. This position is responsible for the status of assigned jobs at all times and ensures all work has been appropriately reviewed before publishing. **Social Media Publishing:** The social media specialist executes approved deliverables through publishing approvals workflows. This position is responsible for ensuring that posts go out as planned on designated platforms with utmost accuracy, which includes occasional weekend and evening work. **Community Management:** The social media specialist engages with the College of Education’s social media community by responding to comments, questions, replies, DMs, tags, and more across all posts and platforms. The specialist is also responsible for troubleshooting inappropriate content by hiding and deleting comments, under the direction of the PR/Communications Manager as needed. The specialist employs excellent grammar skills and authentic brand voice to participate in social media conversations. The specialist manages the College of Education’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok) professionally and consistently. + Create original written and graphic content for social media posting that corresponds to our overall marketing strategy and brand guidelines + Work closely with the marketing team, including graphic designers + Support and strategize with all teams throughout the college to amplify various projects and updates. + Manage and edit social media content calendar. + Maintain brand quality and alignment across all social media posts and post content in a timely manner in accordance to the scheduled deadlines. + Lead and/or assist with creating social media campaigns for various projects. + Comfortable in front of camera acting as “host” when needed. **Minimum Qualifications** Four years public relations experience which includes two years marketing, fundraising or sales activities, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. Experience writing news releases, producing newsletters and organizing special events and fund-raising activities preferred. Depending upon department of assignment, preference may be given for a background in purchasing, television production, radio, athletics, library or museum.
