TRACER is a research initiative based at Fred Hutch Cancer Center focused on accelerating discoveries and treatment options for patients with rare and understudied cancers. We are seeking a creative and driven Social Media Intern to help grow our online presence, engage the rare cancer community, and highlight the exciting research and outreach activities of the TRACER program. This is an ideal opportunity for students interested in sciences, communications, public health, digital media, or nonprofit outreach.

 

This is a remote position that requires candidates to attend in person events. 

Responsibilities

Job Duties:

Conduct background research on various rare cancers, including incidences, molecular markers, survival, etcCreate and schedule engaging posts across Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, and FacebookParticipate in TRACER events, symposiums, researcher profiles, and patient storiesDevelop graphics, short videos, and infographics for social media and web useTrack social media analytics and report on engagement trendsCollaborate with research and advocacy teams to align messaging

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Currently enrolled in a college or university program

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Passion for science, medicine, advocacy, or public communicationExperience with social media platforms (especially Instagram and LinkedIn)Strong writing, editing, and visual content skillsFamiliarity with Canva, Adobe, or similar tools (bonus)Organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently

The hourly pay range for this position is from $20.76 to $29.54 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
