General Summary:
Qualcomm’s Compute SoC Architecture team defines architectures & solutions enabling the next-generation of system-on-chip (SoC) products for Qualcomm’s Compute business line. Our team performs analysis, defines, and delivers innovative and scalable architectures across key technologies including heterogenous compute, memory systems, interconnects, multimedia, AI/ML, multi-die, power-management and more. We collaborate directly with SoC, software, systems, design, product marketing, and customers. We are currently seeking exceptional architects to join us in our mission to innovate and deliver the most advanced architectures in the industry.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Comprehend product requirements to steer definition of the right architecture.Perform trade-off analysis in the solution space to produce the most optimal architecture.Collaborate with architects, technical leads, hardware and software engineers from various functional areas in defining the architectural solution that can best integrate in the overall SoC.Generate architectural specification and work closely with SOC and IP implementation teams to implement the architecture.Skills/Experience:
Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills with ability to convey proposals and interact effectively across a distributed multi-discipline organizationStrong foundation of silicon design principles and architectural trade-offsAbility to span and connect levels of abstraction across system-design, high-level languages, HLOS, HW/SW interface, micro-architecture, and silicon implementationBackground in architecture (IP or SoC), and/or front-end design/verification (micro-architecture)Demonstrated deep technical knowledge and achievements at the SoC, sub-system or large IP levels as micro-architect or architectAbility to apply appropriate abstractions and quantitative analysis for problem definition and solutionsExperience in using, improving, and developing a variety of tools for analysis and modeling, such as functional and performance/power simulators, profilers, etc.Ability and desire to develop and improve architecture methodologies for experiments and analysisBackground in the areas of SoC such as boot, time-base management and network, power architecture, security architecture, reset architecture, debug architecture, system level control/management with components such as Embedded Controller, etc.Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.OR
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
• 2+ years of experience in one or more system architecture technology areas and products (e.g., Power System, Shared Resource Management, Limits/Thermal Management, Hardware Islands).
Preferred Qualifications:

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$179,000.00 - $268,400.00The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
