As part of the mission, we are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to work in our Singapore Laser Manufacturing facility in Kaki-Bukit, Singapore who can drive improvements in the quality and reliability of fiber based and solid-state laser products. This role will have responsibility for developing, maintaining, and improving the Quality control systems and processes for a variety of critical laser systems as well as leading by influence to drive quality within the culture of the organization.
A successful candidate will have a strong work ethic to meet the occasional high intensity workload for customer commitments. A persuasive personality with strong communications skills is needed to influence key cross-functional stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
Support New Product Development and Continuous Improvement project teams to deliver robust and effective products to the market by ensuring the proper application of design controls, process controls, risk management and the investigation/resolution of design/process failures.Review and approve new and modified product/process specifications, procedures, test methods, work instructions, etc. Provide feedback and input to facilitate improvements as needed.Lead or assist project teams in activities such as: DFMEA, pFMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, 8D Problem Solving, etc.Support Failure Analysis and the Returned Material Process and ensure the timely analysis and management/disposition of customer failures or complaints.Drive issues to root cause(s), ensure implementation of systemic corrective/preventive action(s), and monitor for effectiveness.Recommend improvements to the quality systems and procedures. Lead or assist in quality improvement initiatives.Interface with customer/suppliers for failure incidences.Assist in preparation and support during internal and external auditsSupport NPI Laser transfer, driver Laser NPI readiness, setup validation and buy-off, Test Instruction validation, Equipment & Metrology, Risk Assessments.Requirements:
Bachelor’s/Master's Degree in Mechanical, Optical, Optomechanical Engineering or related Engineering Science.A minimum of 2 years of quality assurance related experience or a relevant experience.Previous Laser or optics industry experience is highly desired.Strong and thorough knowledge of quality engineering discipline, including:Quality data collection and data analysis Understanding of statistical methods, including population sampling, hypothesis testingInspection methods & tools, mechanical and electricalProblem Solving techniques such as 8-D, 5-why, Fishbone / Fault tree, PFMEA, K-TFamiliarity with statistical analysis techniques, such as Weibull Analysis and Gage R&R, as well as appropriate software tools, such as Minitab or JMP#LI-DNI
