Providing hydrogeological and hydrological input for dewatering, water supply, and environmental compliance, ensuring the mine’s interaction with water resources is well understood and controlled.

Key Responsibilities

·  Lead hydrogeological investigations, including drilling, aquifer testing, and groundwater monitoring.

·  Develop and maintain groundwater models to support mine planning, dewatering, and closure.

·  Design and manage mine dewatering systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.

·  Monitor groundwater quality and assess impacts (e.g., TSFs, waste dumps).

·  Manage surface water systems, including rainfall and runoff modelling, drainage design, and water diversion strategies.

·  Water balance management

·  Analyse and interpret hydrogeological and hydrological data to inform operational decisions.

·  Identify and mitigate water-related risks to mine safety, productivity, and the environment.

·  Collaborate with mine planning, geotechnical, environmental, and geology teams on water-related issues.

·  Mentor junior staff and contribute to technical development within the hydrogeology team.

·  Lead hydrogeology projects, including contractor supervision, budgeting, and scheduling.
