Overview The Snowmaking Pumps and Compressors Technician provides direction, leadership, and expertise to the Big Sky Resort Snowmaking Department. This individual assists with training and helps oversee winter snowmaking pump and compressor operations, as well as summer maintenance and construction projects. The ideal candidate must be able to troubleshoot issues to ensure a safe and efficient working environment. Responsibilities Must arrive with working knowledge of Snowmaking pumps and compressors Must be able to adjust snowmaking equipment to produce the best product possible for our guests Must be able to train and supervise snowmakers on the mountain Must understand the overall snowmaking plan and maintenance of the snowmaking system Must be able to manage and schedule system maintenance projects Must have a positive attitude with internal and external customers Must be able to troubleshoot and maintain SMI Fan guns. Must be able to troubleshoot, maintain, and improve fully automated and manual HKD Klik towers, as well as manual R valves Must have the ability to respond quickly to requests by Management Must be able to safely operate all equipment at all times Must follow policies and procedures outlined in the Big Sky Resort handbook Must be able to take on additional tasks and assignments as assigned. Qualifications Previous Mountain Operations experience is required. Have the ability to ski or snowboard in a competent manner Punctual and tolerant to long hours outdoors Strong interpersonal skills Must be 18 years of age. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and carry up to 40 lbs.
