SMT Production Engineer ( Shift ).
Job Summary:The SMT Production Engineer is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the Surface Mount Technology assembly line. This includes process setup, equipment maintenance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement to ensure efficient and high-quality PCB assembly.
Process Management:
Set up, optimize & Monitor SMT as well as THT production linesDevelop and maintain process documentation (SOPs, work instructions, Skill Matrix, Check sheet).Monitor and improve process parameters to ensure high yield and low defect rates.Compliance of system requirements to get IATF 16949, ISO 14001, OHSAS and ESD certificationMonitor, Control and improve Production KPI - OEE, First pass yield, DL efficiency, Component Droppage, Scrap rate.Quality Assurance:
Conduct root cause analysis for process defects (solder bridges, tombstoning, etc.).Collaborate with QA to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).Ensure compliance with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610).Production Support:
Support NPI (New Product Introduction) and engineering change implementations.Train operators and technicians on SMT processes and best practices.Coordinate with cross-functional teams (QA, SCM, HR Planning).Continuous Improvement:
Drive lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, Kaizen).Analyze production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electronics, Electrical, or related engineering field.4-8 years of experience in SMT production or process engineering.Hands-on experience with SMT equipment and tools.Knowledge of IPC standards and ESD practices.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Good communication and teamwork abilities.HARMAN is proud to be an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
