Precision in Every Placement – Join Us as an SMT Operator (2nd Shift)
$23–$25/hr | Monday–Friday | 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM | Maple Grove, MN
PDS Tech Commercial, partnering with a leader in electronics manufacturing, is seeking a skilled Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Operator to join our 2nd shift team. In this role, your precision, technical skill, and attention to detail will directly impact the quality of advanced electronics used in critical applications across industries.
What You’ll DoAs an SMT Operator, you’ll be at the heart of the production process—setting up, running, and maintaining SMT equipment while ensuring every product meets IPC-A-610 & J-STD-001 Class 3 quality standards. You will:
Set up and align solder paste stencils, apply solder paste, and verify accuracy.
Load and replenish components in SMT pick-and-place machines, checking for correct positioning, values, and polarity.
Follow engineering documentation to process assemblies for consistent, high-quality solder joints.
Monitor and manage floor stock inventory, reporting low or expired materials.
Perform preventative maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on SMT equipment.
Collaborate with engineers to run new product introduction (NPI) builds.
Conduct X-ray inspections, rework, and solder touch-ups under a microscope.
Maintain clean, organized, and FOD-free work areas while following all safety practices.
What You BringRequired:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in SMT equipment setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
Ability to read blueprints and follow technical documentation.
J-STD & IPC-610 certification (or ability to obtain).
Ability to perform microscope soldering and repetitive precision tasks.
Preferred:
Experience programming SMT equipment.
Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO quality systems.

Pay Details: $23.00 to $24.00 per hour
