We are hiring for our Middle East PMCC Division, a **Smart Switchgear Application Engineer** to be based in Dubai, UAE.
**What you’ll do:**
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Design and support smart LV switchgear systems and MCCs in compliance with IEC standards and applicable industry codes.
+ Integrate condition monitoring solutions into LV switchgear for predictive maintenance and asset health management.
+ Develop and deploy Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) architectures tailored to low voltage power distribution environments.
+ Configure and support PLC and HMI systems using programming environments such as CODESYS, including basic logic, visualization, and diagnostics.
+ Specify and apply advanced Power Quality (PQ) metering solutions, ensuring accurate energy monitoring and system diagnostics.
+ Design and implement redundant communication schemes within LV switchgear systems for high-availability applications.
+ Apply and troubleshoot various fieldbus protocols including Modbus, IEC 61850, Profibus, and Profinet.
+ Collaborate with product managers, project engineers ,segment application team and end-users to deliver application-specific solutions.
+ Create and maintain technical documentation, system architecture drawings, and integration guides.
+ Provide pre-sales technical support and participate in FAT, commissioning, and post-sales support as needed.
**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field.
+ Minimum 4–5 years of experience in low voltage switchgear applications and digital power distribution systems.
**Skills:**
+ Strong understanding of IEC LV switchgear standards (e.g., IEC 61439, IEC 60947).
+ Proven experience with IIoT platforms, smart switchgear architecture, smart motor management relays and industrial connectivity is a big plus
+ Hands-on experience with PLC/HMI systems and programming (CODESYS and/or equivalent).
+ In-depth knowledge of power quality meters, their integration and data handling.
+ Familiarity with industrial communication networks and redundancy protocols (e.g., PRP, RSTP).
+ Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
+ Ability to interpret electrical schematics and system design documents (knowledge in EPLAN, ETAP is a plus).
+ Effective communication skills and the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
