Small Business Unit (SBU) Team Lead - Health and Benefits Consulting Associate Director

As the SBU Team Lead, you will be responsible for providing support and guidance specific to the colleagues and clients in H&B Canada’s Small Business Unit (SBU). In addition, you will dedicate at least 50% of your time to leading a book-of-business comprising SBU and mid-market clients. The role will report into the Operations function.
The Role
You bring our new operating model to life by ensuring colleagues are incorporating our new ways of working into all work and deliverables for the clients meeting the SBU criteria. This includes fully leveraging our Data Management Team (DMT) and Business Support Services to provide core deliverables using SBU tools, templates and processes, while referring opportunities outside of the SBU scope to FAA&P and or other Client Service Team (CST) colleagues. You have a deep understanding of the ways we work. You are viewed as the role model and set an example for local colleagues on how to work with the DMT. You create an environment of timely and effective communication with the DMT and amongst SBU colleagues highlighting the importance of sharing feedback on a timely basis for broader issues to be resolved swiftly (e.g. sharing and actioning learning from errors or best practices). You are a source of knowledge, a benefits coach and teacher to answer questions, review work and provide training individually as well as broadly across the team. You oversee and perform Technical Reviews (TR’s) and Consulting Reviews (CR’s) on a variety of deliverables to ensure comprehensiveness, accuracy and WTW standards are being met for client deliverables. You manage colleague performance throughout the year including conducting performance evaluations and career development. You champion your people and help bring out the best in their abilities for their and the firm’s success through their focus on SBU clients. You identify and develop solutions to support performance issues and seek support from the Toronto Market Leader accordingly. You work closely with the Toronto Market Leader when required to support recruitment, onboarding and offboarding activities of the group. You identify, and with the support of the Operations Leader, Market Leaders, SDL and/or FAA&P, develop solutions to improve quality, tools, templates and/or processes to correct inaccuracies, enhance the value we bring to our clients and/or escalate the learning of SBU colleagues and the DMT. You work with WTW sales leaders in scoping and onboarding new clients, and allocation of such new clients to appropriately experienced SBU colleagues. You ensure best practices are followed with respect to proper scoping, pricing, delivering within scope and invoicing to ensure strong financial performance across the overall SBU book-of-business. You oversee the team to ensure all SBU clients have thorough and accurate data in our tools at all times and feedback is provided in a timely basis to support the growth of the DMT. Should have 5+ years in the industry and be familiar working with all sizes and complexities of clients. Demonstrate a strong understanding of the small market, the needs of these clients and the insurance offerings available.Note: Employment-based non-immigrant visa sponsorship and/or assistance is not offered for this specific job opportunity.
