The SM-3 **Senior Principal Program Quality Engineer** will create and execute strategic initiatives to improve quality throughout SM-3 production facilities. You will implement a predictive quality tool using internal and supplier manufacturing data and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to implement process and design changes to improve yields and quality metrics. You will work with the program quality manager, program manager, program chief engineer, and other stakeholders to work as a valuable partner with the program office and other functions. You will oversee quality efforts to ensure delivered products and services meet customer and Raytheon requirements, support program DD250s, champion risks and opportunities, identify and document gaps in expectations between extended customer base and the program implementation baseline, as well as organize cross-functional teams and utilize a data-driven approaches to make program improvements. You will also interface with the Missile Defense Agency Assurance Representatives (MARs) on a regular basis to understand customer concerns within the production facilities and adjust engagement activities accordingly. **This is an on-site role in Tucson, Arizona** . **What You Will Do** : + You will create and execute a strategic plan to improve quality throughout SM-3 internal production facilities. + You will drive continuous improvement, to resolve nonconformance issues, and reduce the impact within the factories + Interfacing with external and internal customers and key stakeholders to communicate strategy and provide updates after realized improvements. + You will aid the supplier focused teams in implementing improvements in our supply base. + You will drive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) Methodology throughout SM-3 production facilities and Suppliers. + You will assess technical risk of non-conformances utilizing critical thinking and analytical skills. + You will conduct process and product surveillance of all program activities, including system development through the whole life cycle, system maintenance, operations, and sustainment activities. + You will review change requests to assess technical impact. + You will provide oversight for failure investigations. + You will plan, coordinate, and follow through on technical assessments and corrective actions. + You will organize cross-functional teams to plan for improvement events throughout the SM-3 production facilities and Suppliers; utilizing existing data systems to identify what processes are most cost-effective to target for improvement. + You may be required to travel up to 25% of the time **Qualification You Must Have** : + Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and ten (10) years of engineering experience in the defense and/or aerospace industry. + Experience implementing strategic plans spanning more than 12 months. + Minimum 5 years’ working experience in quality assurance role. + Experience leading teams in a matrix environment. + Experience on Material Review Board (MRB). + The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
