Slotting Supervisor
Position OverviewAs a Slotting Optimization Supervisor, you will manage the development of effective slotting programs throughout a warehouse and oversee the maintenance of existing slotting programs as well as assisting as needed with existing warehouses within the company. You will ensure compliance to slotting best practices within the warehouse by working with your peers and the Manager of Slotting Optimization to best utilize our local slotting support. This role will be responsible for training, coaching, and managing local slotters in best practices to ensure national consistency, including re-profiling work, reserve and capacity modeling, understanding and improving key operational productivity metrics. This role will partner with other key groups (e.g. Operations, Operations Planning, Procurement, etc.) in the development and implementation of warehouse programs to drive efficiency. Focus will be on creating slotting maintenance programs, hiring of the local slotting personnel, as well as guiding the work of the slotters within the warehouse.

Job DescriptionDescription

Hiring, supervising, training and overseeing the work and performance of local facility slotters Take responsibility for maintenance and efficiency projects (i.e. customer changes, travel reduction, slot type optimizations, etc.) of C&S facilities in a comprehensive fashion with an understanding of upcoming changes to systems, labor implications, building impacts, and itemization changes. This may include managing 3rd party contractors for larger projects. Work with the local operations team to support key event planning (i.e. business transitions, new business, holiday planning, storms, etc.) of C&S facilities. Develop and manage an annual plan of maintenance and slotting initiatives designed to sustain or improve upon efficiency from previously executed projects, as well as updating slotting layouts to react to customer, SKU, and building changes. Oversee ad-hoc teams assisting in the analysis and optimization of buildings or executing slotting plans in conjunction with local management. Forge and maintain a body of software tools, analytical processes and operational assumptions that guide event planning, and which local slotters also use to maintain best-in-class facilities. Skills

Specialized Knowledge : Proficiency in Red Prairie, EXE, and-or Triceps warehouse management systems; Strong understanding of complex distribution center operations including interrelation between slotting efficiency and key operational metrics, development of facility design concepts, project management, compiling and presenting professional materials to local and regional operations leadership.Special Skills : Advanced Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Data Mining, and intermediate to advanced SQL query development and-or other relevant applications experience; Good decision-making and problem solving skills with the ability to work through situational issues at the strategic and tactical levels; Proficiency in multitasking, prioritizing, communicating, and adapting to changePhysical abilities: : Ability to work on your feet for hours at a time in a Warehouse environment at various temperature ranges (ambient, up to 100F, down to freezer at -20F); Ability to work at a computer for long hours.Other: : Experience working in unionized environments is a plusOther: : Hours may vary week to week as needed to support the business including potentially working weekends or night shift
