SLIMS Program Manager
Job Description

Agilent Technologies is seeking a dynamic and experienced SLIMS Program Manager to lead the successful delivery of our SLIMS (Sample Lifecycle Information Management System) implementations. This pivotal role bridges technical expertise with strategic project leadership, ensuring that our laboratory informatics solutions are deployed efficiently, effectively, and with exceptional client satisfaction. As the primary liaison between Agilent and our customers, you will oversee all aspects of SLIMS project execution—from planning and budgeting to risk management and stakeholder engagement—while driving innovation and continuous improvement in lab operations.

Responsibilities:

Oversees the administration, status updates, and follow-ups related to SLIMS projects

Establishes and manages the SLIMS implementations, including budget, structure, and scheduling requirements tailored to SLIMS implementations

Drives and ensures delivery of expected outcomes according to the defined SLIMS project scope, cost, quality standards, and timeline milestones

Maintains responsibility for risk assessment, specifically identifying and communicating SLIMS-related risks to all stakeholders

Monitors estimates of SLIMS project revenues, costs, expenses, and profits against established metrics, and communicate any deviations to appropriate stakeholders

Acts as the primary point of contact between customers and Agilent’s SLIMS project stakeholders

Ensures all customized SLIMS solutions are implemented within agreed budgets

Builds and sustains strong relationships with SLIMS clients

Coordinates contributions from both internal and external SLIMS project team members, including collaboration with third-party vendors as needed for SLIMS project activities

Demonstrates SLIMS knowledge, with a focus on overseeing its implementation in laboratory environments and ensuring projects run smoothly

Effectively manages SLIMS projects by coordinating activities, allocating resources, and optimizing workflows to meet business objectives and client needs

Takes responsibility for planning and prioritizing SLIMS-related initiatives, ensuring successful project delivery and ongoing support

Contributes to improvements in SLIMS project management operations

Handles complex challenges that arise during SLIMS engagement, finding practical solutions and refining processes to benefit clients and teams

Works independently with minimal supervision, but consults with others on important matters when needed

May coach or mentor team members and clients in the effective use and management of SLIMS

Leads projects as the SLIMS Delivery ambassador, building strong relationships with both internal colleagues and external partners

Qualifications

Typically 4+ years of relevant experience

Experience in technical project delivery, especially in lab informatics or software implementation​

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (or equivalent)

PMP Certification (highly desired)

Technical & Domain Expertise

Strong working knowledge of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), especially SLIMS

Experience in managing Software as a Service products

Ability to apply technical knowledge to diverse and complex assignments

Project Management Skills

Experience in:

Defining and managing project plans, budgets, schedules, and staffing

Delivering results within scope, cost, quality, and timeline

Risk assessment and stakeholder communication

Tracking project financials (revenue, cost, profit)

Managing profit and loss (P&L) responsibilities

Leadership & Communication

Ability to liaise internal and external teams

Strong client relationship management skills

Capable of mentoring or training others

Comfortable working independently with minimal guidance

Demonstrates thought leadership  in project management

Additional Details

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $97,841.00 - $152,876.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
