Position Title: SJCM Academic Affairs, Student Assistant Requisition Number: 0406073708 Location New York City Position Type: Student Department: Jazz/Dean's Office Responsibilities: INTRODUCTORY PARAGRAPHThe School of Jazz and Contemporary Music at the College of Performing Arts seeks a highly motivated student to serve as SJCM Academic Affairs Student Assistant. We’re looking for an energetic, creative, and responsible individual to support initiatives within the School of Jazz & Contemporary Music. This position reports to the Associate Director of Academic Affairs, School of Jazz & Contemporary Music and is an ideal position for students who are interested in a career in music business, administration, or education.
This position is open to student applicants with Federal Work Study awards, as well as student applicants without a Federal Work Study award.

RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with organizing Jazz & Gender events, juries, Improvisation Ensemble placements, and auditions for Elective Ensembles; Assist with academic communications; Light filing, Photocopying; Carry out general errands; Assist with the production and distribution of brochures and flyers; Support the Associate Director of Academic Affairs with tasks and initiatives, including syllabi organization, handbook preparation, and placement testing; General tasks and duties as assigned by Associate Director of Academic Affairs or other Faculty, Staff, or Administration
WORK MODEHybrid – Employees hired for this position primarily work remotely with the occasional on-campus presence required with advanced notice. Employees in this role will also be expected to use their best judgment to be on campus when necessary in order to best fulfill the responsibilities of their job descriptions.
SALARY RANGE Hourly Rate: $16.50/hour
Hours per Week: 4-6 hours as needed
