Overview We are seeking a Sitter , also referred to as a Patient Observer or Patient Care Assistant (PCA) . The Sitter in our hospital provides continuous one-on-one observation and support to patients who require close monitoring to ensure their safety. Sitters do not perform clinical procedures but play a vital role in patient safety and support, especially for patients with cognitive impairments, delirium, or high fall risk. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed. Shift’s Available:   Days Employment Type: Per Diem Hours: 7:00am to 7:00pm Location: Dallas Regional Medical Center – Mesquite, TX Here are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare:  + Competitive compensation + Medical insurance benefit plan + 401K + Sick leave accrual Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): + Continuously observes patients who are at risk of harming themselves or others, such as those who are confused, agitated, or medically unstable + Ensures patient safety by preventing falls, wandering, or removing medical devices like IV lines or catheters + Provides companionship and reassurance to help reduce patient anxiety and agitation + Communicates any changes in patient behavior or condition promptly to nursing staff or the healthcare team + Assists with non-clinical needs such as helping patients with basic comfort measures or calling for assistance + Helps maintain a calm and safe environment for both the patient and staff Qualifications Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers . You must have:  + High School Diploma or equivalent. + Knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer skills. + Ability to communicate in English orally and in writing. + Within 90 days be eligible to participate in a C.N.A.
