Sitework Designer
Job Description:
A Civil Engineer specializing in site development is responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of infrastructure.
This includes ensuring that substations, transmission lines, and related facilities are integrated seamlessly into the site.
Responsibilities:
•\tDevelop detailed site plans and specifications for power delivery systems, including substations, transmission lines, and associated infrastructure.
•\tCoordinate with electrical engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
•\tConduct site reconnaissance to assess field conditions, drainage, erosion control needs, and as-built conditions.
•\tEnsure all designs and constructions comply with local, state, and federal regulations and safety codes.
•\tProvide technical expertise and support for senior engineers and project managers.
•\tMonitor construction activities to ensure materials and workmanship meet project quality standards and design requirements.
•\tAddress and resolve any issues that arise during the construction process.
•\tPrepare and present reports on project progress, costs, and any issues to senior management and stakeholders.
Essential Skills:
•\tProficiency in Civil Engineering and site development.
•\tAbility to perform preparatory designs and calculations.
•\tExperience conducting site walkdowns and cost estimates.
•\tProficiency in using Civil 3D for design.
•\tUnderstanding and experience with erosion and sediment control.
•\tFamiliarity with AutoCAD.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
•\tExperience in civil engineering design.
•\tCapability in project engineering.
Work Environment:
•\tThis position is based in the Birmingham area.
•\tThe work environment involves the use of advanced engineering tools and collaboration with a team of professionals dedicated to maintaining high standards in power delivery infrastructure.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
