Position Overview

We are actively recruiting for a highly motivated site supervisor with a high sense of teamwork to lead and manage the in all aspects of safety, operations, sales, finance, equipment and critical support functions with primary responsibility for ensuring effective execution of company operational performance and growth strategy. Competency requirements include business acumen, customer focus, developing direct reports, drive for results, and building effective teams.

 

Wage: $32.00 - $35.00/hr DOE w/ potential for overtime

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) Supervise,and batch the daily batching and loading of concrete leaving the plant. Ensure concrete slumps meet specifications. Diagnose and repair batch plant equipment. Coordinate equipment and personnel for larger repairs. Ensure that batch plant parts are services and greased, as well as maintaining cleanliness of the plant. Direct supervision over drivers, plant / equipment operators, and site personnel. Responsible for daily operations including safe production, quality, customer focus and maintaining the integrity of the safety and environmental systems within company’s RMC operations. Promote a safe working culture for all employees; work with safety and field personnel to minimize risk and increase safety for employees at all times. Drive operational performance and improvements to meet or exceed company goals. Develop an environment that encourages quality product and service to the customer so as to be the best in the business regarding on-time delivery, driver productivity and customer service. Interface with maintenance department for major maintenance and/or repairs. Interface with vendors for raw materials, equipment and plant maintenance. Recommend and assist with efforts to improve management of plant and financial performance. Provide leadership and direction to drive efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources. Build effective teams and develop direct reports for future opportunities. Lead team in personal performance management, training and development, succession planning, effective recruiting and hiring. Ensure that all crews have the tools and training to operate safely at all times and that all federal, state and local laws concerning safety, environment and other applicable areas are strictly enforced. Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required. Other duties as may be assigned. 

 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Demonstrated success in managing employees and/or leading a crew. Some experience in creating, working within and/or administering an assigned budget. Time mangement skills. Must be 18 years in age or older. Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required. Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required. Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary. Must be able to work under time constraints as needed. Strong work ethic and high standards for safety in the workplace. High standard or ethics, integrity, and trust. Excellent interpersonal skills and exemplary oral/written communication skills. Strategic vision with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus. Energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and ability to present themselves professionally. Effective interpersonal and communication skills; building rapport, listening, presenting, giving and receiving feedback. Demonstrated successful delivery of customer service and satisfaction. Proven ability to develop relationships and to work with teams as both a leader and a participant. Solid understanding of market strategy principles, and the ability to balance company priorities with those of all customers. Knowledge and understanding of functional areas within the company. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Project management skills.

 

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects, talk and hear. Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently required to sit, and use hands. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Able to safely drive a vehicle for long periods of time.
