Unity Lab Services provides a single source for integrated lab service, support, and supply management. Our customized service offerings and diverse service experts have the flexibility and experience to uniquely and dynamically address our customer’s laboratory's business needs.

How do we make an impact?

The position is focused primarily on scientific support services within Unity Lab Services core offerings of order entry, order management, material handling and glasswash operations. May also include lab based tasks including reagent preparation. Our specialists work in a variety of dynamic workplaces, allowing us to be a collaborative and growth-based team.

What will you do?

Perform laboratory services such as order delivery, glassware processing, inventory management, chemical inventory receipt/reconciliationFollow work processes as outlined by our written proceduresProactively connect with supervisor any customer concerns and/or potential problemsListens to customer concerns, effectively addresses issues with a goal of resolution within established timeframeEngage in process improvement activitiesMay perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

1-2 years in equivalent experience preferred, preferably within a laboratory setting or services

Validated customer service skills with demonstrated verbal, and written skills

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Ability to read, write and speak English fluently, using strong interpersonal skills and desire to deliver excellent customer service, including maintaining a professional appearance in all interactions and upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific's values.Possesses a forward-thinking and customer-centric drive and the interpersonal skills to collaborate with various levels of personnel in an inclusive environment.Must possess operating skills to use handheld scanners and learn to enter data in various systems as needed, as well as analytical skills to reconcile reports.Demonstrates computer proficiency and possess intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software. Uses interpersonal skills to multi-task and meet due dates as needed.Works primarily at customer sites, which may require working independently. Work areas may include spaces where chemical-based allergens may be in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc.)In certain areas of the building, personal protective equipment may be worn to include lab coats, coveralls, hood, facemask, hairnets, safety gloves, and safety glasses, steel toe shoes, bump hats and/or safety glasses.Requires the ability to lift, push and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift 50 pounds, including operation and use of pushcarts, pallet jacks, etc.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $16.78–$25.16.
