The Role

Understand the lifecycle of infrastructure project (Design, Implement, Transition and Operation) In-depth understanding of AIX architecture and troubleshooting experience with the ability to analyze technical problems to prevent future occurrence.Strong Hands on IBM PSeries 7 / 8 / 9 /10Manage complex AIX High Availability InfrastructurePlanning of OS Hardening of AIX ServersPerforming AIX OS disaster recoveryStrong Knowledge on Linux - RHEL / SUSEStrong knowledge on Windows and VMwareStrong knowledge on Storage and Network Strong knowledge on Network routing, Analyzing Network Packet, Storage Multipathing and NIC teamingKnowledge on OpenShift, Solaris and Veritas ClusterWorking on escalated tickets and available 24/7 for on call supportTo co-ordinate with the appropriate teams for call resolution for high severity or escalated calls.Troubleshooting escalated issues to Higher UpRecovery of OS / Hardware to consistent state.Liaison with Customer for complex technical issues and capacity planning.Maintenance and Upgrade of Patching Application and Reporting Systems.3rd party vendor coordination and handling escalation.Provide technical leadership and internal trainings to subordinate teams.Attend and actively participate in management meetings, client meets and workshops.Delegate tasks to sub-ordinate teams and follow up to make sure that they are completed.Documentation and Implementation of best practices.Write project proposals, design documents, and extensive documentation in the Wiki.Problem Management and RCAIdentifying problem areas and doing trending and recommendations.Responsible for reviewing and updating RCA document for Severity 1Problem Escalation and Progress MonitoringPro-active problem managementReview of Historic Incidents to discover regularly repeating incidents.Hardware and Software Vendor escalation for problem record resolution.Trend analysis of issues and corrective actions.Forecasting and recommendation for capacity like disk, memory CPU etc

Required Skills and Experience

15+ years of experience in operational management, including incident management and escalationsSolution and design experience in an enterprise environment: Windows server, Linux server), UNIX (AIX ,Solaris), •Windows server, storage, and Hyperscaler Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform); public cloud platforms such as AWS, OpenShift, Azure or GCPExperience with design and implementation of application monitoring to ensure reliability and performance meets or exceeds business goalsExperience implementing strategies to cap operations load and to handle overflow using appropriate tooling and metrics; defining service level indicators and objectives in collaboration with stakeholders, business, development, DevSecOps and Operations teamsExperience working with Data format and Scripting languages JSON, YAML, Bash and/or PowerShellBS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other highly technical, scientific discipline


Preferred Skills and Experience

RHEL & SUSE is preferredExpertise with Ansible, Terraform, and PythonExperience with distributed technologies as well as dynamic resource management frameworks such as Kubernetes
