Site Reliability Engineer- INTL Romania
Job Description Our streaming client is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join the Reliability Tooling Team. This team creates tools used by internal developers to assess the operations of their services within production environements. As a Site Reliability Engineer on this team, this individual will be responsible for writing and reviewing code, contributing to technical decisions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize tool utilization. This person will leverage their software engineering expertise using Golang to build reliability solutions that enable development teams to achieve their service level objectives, by continuous measurement and improvement of reliability signals. To be successful in this role, this person will continuously uphold and improve all the relevant reliability aspects for services, with an increased focus on SLIs and SLOs, while raising the reliability of a variety of large scale user facing and internal services. Responsibilities include: • Build tools to help your SRE team quickly pinpoint, isolate, and resolve issues related to infrastructure, platform services, and applications. • Write code (in Golang) that improves scalability, performance, maintainability, and security. • Use Chaos Engineering principles and methodologies to test what you build under real-world conditions. • Deploy and manage innovative modern cloud technologies using infrastructure-as-code, self-healing, and security automation patterns. • Develop useful telemetry, alerts, and response to reduce Mean Time To Repair (MTTR). • Collaborate and provide technical excellence within and across teams. • Consult on best practices and develop tools to enable smooth adoptions of good service reliability practices and methods, e.g., promote sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems. • Identify areas of improvement in reliability, efficiency, and operations. • Cultivate full-team participation in high-quality, thoughtful software. Skills and Requirements • 5+ years of professional SRE or DevOps experience supporting multi-region, high-volume traffic environments. • Strong software development background using Golang • Experience in designing, building, and operating large-scale production systems • Experience with container orchestration systems in enterprise production environments; AWS ECS or Kubernetes • Configuration management and orchestration (e.g. Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible, Puppet) • Experience with continuous integration tools (e.g. Jenkins, Gitlab CI/CD, AWS CodeBuild/Deploy/Pipeline, Azure DevOps, Spinnaker) • Skilled with automating infrastructure, deployment and testing using tools like Cloudformation, Ansible or Terraform, and can explain the Infrastructure as Code paradigm • Experience with monitoring and observability tooling: Datadog, Grafana • Frontend/UI experience null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
