CTG is seeking to fill a Site Reliability Engineer (Application Consultant/Site Reliability) opening for our client in Houston, TX. Location: Houston, TX Duration: 5 months Description: An Application Consultant: Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) specializes in automating platform and infrastructure management tasks, ensuring seamless integration with application development workflows. By employing software development methodologies, SREs build automation and monitoring solutions to support application functions, enhancing overall reliability and efficiency. This role bridges the gap between application development and infrastructure management, fostering a collaborative environment for continuous improvement. Duties: Design, build, and maintain automation tools and frameworks for infrastructure and application reliability. Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure system availability and performance. Collaborate with application developers to integrate reliability best practices into workflows. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across applications and infrastructure. Support incident response processes, including root cause analysis and postmortem documentation. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, scalability, and resiliency. Skills: Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (Python, Go, Shell, etc.). Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.). Solid understanding of networking, security, and system administration concepts. Experience: 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or related fields. Proven track record in building automation solutions and integrating with application development lifecycles. Experience supporting production environments with high availability requirements. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
