About the Role:

As a valued member of our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of maintaining and enhancing various production environments. Your primary focus will be on ensuring high stability, minimizing service downtime, and enhancing the overall quality of service for our esteemed FIS clients. This dynamic position will involve working with cutting-edge technology, encompassing coding, configuring, implementing, maintaining, and supporting systems.

About the team:

Virtus from FIS® Fund Services delivers comprehensive fund administration services, including portfolio accounting and fund accounting to investor servicing. Whether you manage liquid bank debt funds, risk retention structures, hybrid debt funds, structured credit funds or closed-end funds such as direct lending, mezzanine and special situations.

What you will be doing:

Build infrastructure and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.

Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.

Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.

Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions.

Build monitoring that alerts on symptoms rather than on outages.

Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health.

Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve.

Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large, distributed software applications.

Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.

Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts.

Partner with stakeholders to design and deliver a reliable, scalable, secure, and performant platform.

Stay current on technical trends to suggest innovative tools and approaches to problems.

A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks.

Identify and resolve problems promptly to meet and improve service levels and standards

What you will need:

 

Strong Windows skills

Strong Automation skills – preferred Powershell

DevOps understanding

Strong Microsoft PowerShell knowledge.

Previous experience in technical engineering.

PowerShell experience beyond simple scripts.

Strong and Assertive Communication

Added Bonus if you have:

Certification in SRE Foundation, Azure Fundamentals etc.
