Site Operation Specialist

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Onsite Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Malvern, PA

Shift: Monday–Friday (1st shift)

Hourly Rate: $25.00

What we’re looking for 

Education: High school diploma / GED required Preferred: Associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in business, science, or related field. 

Experience: 4 years of equivalent experience in customer service, purchasing, or inventory/account management.

GMP and GLP training is a plus.

Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred 

Familiarity with Information Access and ERP Systems.

Excellent customer service skills and a professional, can-do attitude.

Basic knowledge of purchasing and inventory management.

Strong commitment to safety, quality, and adherence to protocols, policies, and procedures.

Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to multi-task effectively.

Self-motivated and able to manage tasks independently; forward-thinking approach.

How you will thrive and create an impact 

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

In this role you will:

Coordinates and performs work related to customer requirements.

Management of open order status reports, metrics and department reports, and SOP/SOW maintenance.

Provides training and development as well as back-up to associates to perform required tasks.

Provides customer reporting and data analysis.

Acts as a liaison between customer, Avantor services and Avantor sales.

Support multiple departments onsite and will perform the job functions of Coordinators, Technicians, Material Handlers, Glass Washers when scheduled vacations, leave and /or emergency situations occur.

Order and stock products based on lab needs

Monitor inventory levels and manage unit-of-measure (UOM) accuracy

Order, log, and track chemicals in accordance with site protocols

Build tubing assemblies and dispose of cell waste, expired media, and buffers

Maintain parts inventory for bioreactors

Collect, wash, and autoclave lab glass and plasticware

Ship long-term storage samples to GVP & maintain frozen sample inventory for long-term DPD storage

Log and process samples in SAM, identify and address errors

Retrieve & process samples from DPD and API

Maintain monthly inventory and compliance metrics
