HOW A PROJECT/TASK MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
The Site Implementation Lead provides operational leadership and oversight for the IT modernization effort for multiple Air Force and Space Force bases globally. This roll will oversee the execution of the survey, installation, cutover teams performing the modernization effort on site. The Site Implementation Lead has the responsibility to provide resource management, schedule, direction, administration and quality in the program’s execution.
Primary Responsibilities:
Position will perform the following duties:
Project Planning – assist the TO Implementation Lead with the development and maintenance of essential project artifacts, such as schedule and resource allocations.
Execution – Oversees the execution of the survey, installation, and cutover teams of the on-base network modernization. Provide on-site project management, which includes – scheduling, assigning, and verifying completion of all day-to-day activities.
Design – Support the modernization design efforts using data generated during the survey.
Coordination of task execution and resource management – interface with contractor and government Points of Contact (POCs) to coordinate base access, clearance, escorts, personnel and equipment to ensure project tasks can be completed on time. Supervise a team of installers, engineers, and sub-contractors to ensure completion of all assigned tasks
Reporting – Assist the TO Implementation Lead with the development and maintenance of project reporting artifacts including briefings, daily and/or weekly progress reports. Prepare weekly status reports, facilitate weekly, monthly and/or quarterly status stakeholder briefings; brief USG customers and program manager; prepare meeting minutes. Perform performance monitoring and quality control of onsite execution.
Stakeholder Communications – assist the program team with ensuring clear, consistent, timely and accurate communications are maintained with internal and external project stakeholders. Lead and/or assist in weekly base status meetings with the customer.
Other tasks include:
Provides administrative and operational management of assigned projects, including contract and subcontractor management.
Supervises assigned staff, may include subordinate supervisors and managers
Conducts planning and provides recommendations on task workload.
Attends customer meetings on site
Coordinates development of deliverables and products.
Ensures quality control of project deliverables.
Participates in special projects as required.
Reviews project requirements and develop strategies for future work.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institute in an area applicable to this position. Equivalent years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
● Required Experience: 5+ years experience managing various aspects of enterprise IT as a service projects in the DoD environment.
● Required Technical Skills:
Ability to communicate above, below and across the organization and ensure proper relationships are established and maintained with customers, stakeholders, vendors, and the Program Management Office to facilitate the delivery of information and situational awareness.
Ability to analyze, organize and summarize data to ensure accurate records and reporting are maintained throughout the project life cycle.
Ability to manage project activities using standard productivity tools such as MS Project, SharePoint, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Visio
Ability to: identify, monitor, and report on project risk; identify and respond to risk triggers; implement risk mitigation strategies
● Security Clearance Level: DoD Secret Level Clearance required
● Location: The candidate must be able to support work performed at AF bases in the following locations: Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, British Indian Ocean Territory, Japan, South Korea for an extended period.
