The Role:

As a valued member of the Plant IT team, you will collaborate directly with manufacturing operations. You will provide comprehensive IT support and interface across a wide range of infrastructure and applications critical to production. You will leverage your knowledge and experience to contribute to process improvement initiatives focused on flexible and lean manufacturing. This will involve enabling "Factory of Tomorrow" (FOT) concepts, including, but not limited to, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Software-defined networks, next-generation error-proofing, digital broadcast systems, and various mobility solutions.

Working with a local team, you will deliver essential support, encompassing technical troubleshooting, data analysis, and problem resolution for plant floor applications and infrastructure. Furthermore, you will lead various efforts to ensure all assigned manufacturing applications align with Ford's productivity objectives.

You will also engage with diverse business departments within the plant, ranging from assembly and industrial controls to quality, manufacturing, material planning, and logistics.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or engineering.. (Note: Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained.  If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.)

Experience:

Al least 2 years of experience working with IT Infrastructure in manufacturing environment. Ability to work flexible and rotating hours (including days, nights, weekends) to support multi-shift operations and weekend production as needed. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Ability to multi-task; manage multiple tasks/projects. Experience with Server administration; Windows (2016+) and/or Linux. Familiarity with Cisco routers and switches including basic staging, troubleshooting and cable installation. Knowledge of Cisco software-defined architecture (SDA) troubleshooting and implementation. Self-starter with ability to manage through difficult situations. Work efficiently and effectively with diverse, cross functional teams under stressful circumstances Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with plant management and hourly staff Ability to proactively manage critical application availability in a production environment Adept organizational and multi-tasking abilities.

The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

Provide technical support in areas of manufacturing IT applications, infrastructure, operating systems and end-user-productivity tools to stakeholders throughout the manufacturing plant . Interface with corporate IT and business owners to prioritize improvement efforts. Support Plant Floor Systems / PDO teams in resolving incidents; Provide triage and business continuity plans, support escalations, provide hands and feet to support. teams and other global teams (i.e. Database Administrator, Server Operations, Ops Control, Network Operations).  Focus on the integration / long term maintenance of applications and hardware. Assist site IT manager with managing assignments and workload. Develop, maintain, and share accurate supporting documentation. Support local network equipment in a Cisco based environment. Support local servers across both physical and virtual environments in a Windows and Linux based ecosystem. Support FOT deployments and expansion efforts utilizing IIOT, iOS, software-defined network, mobile, and Android based equipment.
