Detailed Description

The General Manager has overall operations responsibility for the P&L with focus on cost management, manufacturing planning and execution, strategic direction, customer support and quality and delivery of products and services. Provides people and financial leadership to grow revenue profitability while improving productivity.  Builds customer business relationships and loyalty. Anticipates and proactively prepares for future change and implements them through rapid sustainable change to achieve and exceed customer expectations. 

Has overall P&L responsibility for site operations.  Work requires properly implementing the Celestica SIOP process and creating an engaged and energizing team to support business growth Requires excellent command of the manufacturing P&L and what is required to achieve and exceed monthly and annual commitments.  Support existing and develop enhanced manufacturing strategies, policies, practices, methods, programs and techniques.   Quickly understand and analyze difficult  situations and and appropriately resolve or establish new strategic direction. LEAN implementation with Kaizens and visual management. Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives.  Excels in perfect on time and on budget execution. Makes final decisions on administrative and operational matters in area of responsibility to ensure achievement of objectives. Directs and controls the activities of several department managers.  Assigns objectives, reviews performance and approves employee compensation, coaches for improved performance.  Regularly interacts with internal and external business executives  Regular customer communications and relentless focus on delivery, quality and cost. May represent the organization in public speaking venues and/or community events. Manages all functions including manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain with a strong focus on quality and inventory and materials management.  Is able to work in a highly matrixed organization. Manages dotted line relationships with Finance, Human Resources, IT, and other support functions.  Manages new product introductions. Understands the business opportunities or conditions that drive high utilization for the facility and uses appropriate judgement to make solid decisions. Balances the creation of an empowered culture with the need to follow up closely enough to ensure high standards of execution.  Instills in the management team a focus on Operations Excellence through flawless execution using World Class Manufacturing practices and 6 Sigma quality initiatives.  Has extensive experience as a Lean practitioner. Applies best practices aligned to the appropriate operations model(s) for the facility. Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Highly self motivated and proactively drives initiatives.  Know and Grow the Business - Understands the trends, challenges and changes in the industry.  Knows the major competitors and how they position themselves and how to compete with them Is opportunistic in taking advantage of new markets, tools, technologies and processes for competitive advantage. Stands behind decisions once they have been made but knows when adjustments are required.  Communicates clearly and accurately in all forms of communication. Results Oriented - Stays focused on key business requirements that impact shareholder value.  Consistently hits targets and objectives. Follows through on commitments. The successful candidate will need to be an agent of change that can see “the big picture”, have a forward-looking customer centric approach. and drive execution. Typical Experience At least 10 years’ experience in operations with a proven track record, including recent experience with similar size and scope.  Demonstrated ability to achieve aggressive cost performance requirements Experience and comfort in working in a highly matrixed organization. Must meet the residence requirements required by ITAR. Manufacturing management experience fully integrated operational environments Comfort with both operational and financial metrics; with a track record of always being on top of the numbers Strategic thinking combined with a capability to drive down in day to day tactical operational issues. Ability to think quickly, learn rapidly and make fast decisions Strong analytical skills with the ability to challenge and make decisions based on limited data Ability to manage complexity across multiple organizations and product lines Demonstrated ability to recruit and retain a high performing staff Preference for candidates with health technology or similarly regulated environments. Proven track record in Lean operations and management. Able to travel to customers, meetings, seminars, etc.. as required. Typical Education Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline required.  MBA preferred. Salary Range and Benefits Summary

The salary range described in this posting is an estimate by the Company, and may change based on several factors, including by not limited to a change in the duties covered by the job posting, or the credentials, experience or geographic jurisdiction of the successful candidate. Salary Range: $139k-$217k Annually
