Site Engineer (China)
Department: Commissioning & Site Management
Location: Wuhu/Fuzhou China
Role Purpose
To strengthen our presence in key customer locations, we aim to establish a permanent on-site role that supports project execution and enhances customer satisfaction. The Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing installation and pre-commissioning activities at the project site. This includes ensuring mechanical completion, supporting installation efforts, and verifying that all pre-commissioning checks are successfully carried out. The role ensures adherence to technical specifications, local safety regulations, and project timelines. Additionally, the Site Engineer serves as the primary technical contact for the shipyard, managing all site-related technical communication.
Main Responsibilities:
• Conduct arrival inspections of equipment and materials
• Perform unpacking and storage inspections to ensure proper handling
• Support installation activities and verify mechanical completion
• Oversee installation and outfitting procedures
• Execute pre-commissioning readiness checks
• Carry out electrical pre-commissioning tasks
• Assist service engineers during final commissioning phases
• Troubleshoot and resolve non-conformities
• Maintain positive customer relations on-site
• Provide first-line technical support to the shipyard or local contractors
• Deliver clear and timely reporting to project stakeholders
Requirements
Experience & Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of proven experience in shipbuilding, commissioning, or installation support—preferably in marine or industrial environments
• Familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve technical issues on-site
• Experience working with international teams and customers is a plus
• Knowledge of local safety regulations and compliance standards in China
• Technical degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or related field) preferred
• Basic understanding of marine safety- and classification regulations

• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and high demand environment
• Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Fluent in English writing and speaking
