Job Summary

Helps plan, organize, develop, and control daily operations of Anesthetists at the local site where the department provides Anesthesia care.

Limited to select locations based on unique workplace dynamics.

Essential Functions of the Role

Supervises the activities of the Site Anesthetists.Administers personnel policies and procedures in addition to selection, placement, training, discipline, discharging and evaluating of all Anesthetists.Performs employee evaluations and helps coordinate SWAT goals for staff development and recognition for all site Anesthetists.Develops and coordinates orientation and ensures that all site Anesthetists are current with continuing education requirements.Meets regularly with site anesthetists to stay updated on operational demands. Communicates new or revised policies and procedures. Helps solve day-to-day problems.Participates closely in professional and management development activities.Ensures that site Anesthetists adhere to the appropriate clinical standards relating to patient care and quality.Performs CRNA or Anesthesiologist Assistant duties on a regular basis.Helps in educational and research work in conjunction with funded activities.Attends management staff meetings and serves on appropriate Scott & White committees and state and national organization committees.Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous way.

Key Success Factors

Graduate from accredited professional nursing program and nurse anesthesiology program or graduate from accredited Anesthesiology Assistant Program.Demonstrate ability to work with and through designated chains of command.Demonstrate maturity and initiative.Master degree is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION - Bachelor'sEXPERIENCE - 4 Years of ExperienceCERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -

ACLS (ACLS): ACLS in 30 days of hire or transfer.
 Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS in 30 days of hire or transfer.
 Cert Anesthesiologist Asst (AA-C), Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA): Must have AA-C or CRNA.
