SITE CFO | ST FRANCIS MEDICAL CENTER | MIDLOTHIAN, VIRGINIA

The Hospital Chief Financial Officer leads the financial operations of their respective site.  Responsibilities include expense management, productivity, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and capital planning.  On-site leader for key shared service functions, including revenue cycle, supply chain and accounting.  Functions at an executive level in an active leadership role. The Hospital Chief Financial Officer reports directly to the Market CFO with dotted line accountability to the Hospital President.  The CFO also works closely with the hospital executive leadership team, department leaders, and shared service functions supporting the hospital.

Essential Job Functions

​Assume a lead role in   analyzing and exploring means of reducing operating costs and increasing revenues based on knowledge of market trends, financial reports, and operating procedures.Direct the preparation of internal financial reports, ensuring that the reports reliably reflect the financial position of the hospital.Direct the timely submission of all financial data required by government and other regulated agencies.Identify and report undesirable trends and potential business opportunities and make recommendations for action.Assist the Hospital President in the development of long and short-range operations plans which may include service demand analyses, resources availability analyses, productivity, and cost benefit analyses of proposed capital and staff expansions.Develop long and short range operational and capital budgets which are supported by the hospitals long and short-range plans and objectives.Direct the preparation of statistical reports, budgets, and financial reports.Administer the general accounting, revenue cycle, financial, and statistical reporting functions of the hospital in accordance with established policies and accounting procedures.Provide informal direction in a matrix management environment. Monitor performance to ensure fiscal responsibilities are fulfilled.Forecast the impact of business decisions and expected outcomes on all financial results.Monitor financial and economic information to identify trends and indicators that may impact business operations, planning, investments, and so forth.Communicate financial operational performance with all stakeholders, including senior administration, appropriate facility staff members and system finance leaders.Review revenue cycle issues and trends for maximizing net reimbursement for Facility.Review contracts, purchase agreements, and other financial arrangements to ensure compatibility with business goals and expectations about profitability and stewardship.Participate in Bon Secours Mercy Health projects as assigned.

REQUIRED

Bachelor’s Degree – Business, Accounting or Finance or related field3-5 years financial leadership experience with significant time in a healthcare setting

PREFERRED

MBA or Masters Degree in Accounting, Finance or Healthcare AdministrationCPA
