Who will you be working with?

Wabtec employees at the Germantown location operate in a team environment in the digital electronic and component field of creating productive and reliable transportation. Our Wabtec Germantown facility includes highly sophisticated production processes that integrate advanced manufacturing technologies with precision assembly techniques. Team members collaborate across engineering, production, and quality assurance functions to deliver innovative products that meet the evolving demands on the transportation industry.

How will you make a difference?

The SIOP/PSI Leader for Wabtec Railway Electronics (WRE) will support SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations and Planning)/PSI (Production, Sales and Inventory) for the WRE business unit.  This role will be challenged to support and execute a world class SIOP/PSI process that delivers improved customer satisfaction, business profitability, and an efficient inventory position. 

What do we want to know about you?

Engineering degree (Bachelor of Science) from an accredited university or college.

Minimum of 4 years of cross functional experience in operations/planning/electronics manufacturing in a high-mix low volume environment.

Strong working knowledge ERP/MRP.

Experience leading operational change in a complex and diverse environment.

APICS certification or related Supply Chain experience.

Demonstrated ability to tactfully challenge the status quo.

Solid conceptual and analytical thinking and proven ability to solve complex tasks with high level of ambiguity, under time pressure.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Strong influencing skills and ability to build lasting relationships across multiple layers in the organization and able to gain respect of cross functional organization.

Highly organized and ability to deliver results through others.

What will your typical day look like?

Develop, lead, and execute business SIOP/PSI strategy, yielding improved value/experience for customers and enhanced revenue/margin growth for business.

Partner with commercial, finance, operations, and engineering teams to develop and drive the planning process to deliver the agreed upon volume forecast and achievable plan of record, ensures gaps and overlaps are addressed, scenario plans are aligned, and issues escalated and/or resolved.

Responsible for demand planning with all WRE and component supply needed from the WRE Fulfillment Team to meet commercial demand.  This includes monitoring plant and supplier capacities to ensure demand is balanced to match supply, plant/supplier capacities are increased to match demand, or demand is adjusted to align to supply capabilities.

Forecast short- and long-term sales and inventory levels based on customer orders, material input, capacity constraints, and COGS across product lines.

Drive a culture emphasizing Lean, Continuous Improvement, and problem-solving to ensure the continued development and growth of assigned personnel through strong Lean leadership.

Employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with infrequent exposure to electric tools, occasional loud noises and possible exposure to fumes while on the production floor.

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is $67,400 - $124,700.

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com.
