Job Summary Job SummaryAbout Our Charter Schools Building on the success of our elementary school, PLN Charter Middle School opened on a co-located campus in August 2013. Our charter schools’ program model is part of the California Community Schools Partnership Program, a transformative approach to (re)design schools by leveraging the collective power of schools, families, and communities to create an inclusive, safe learning environment where all scholars can thrive and reach their full potential. We build our culture based on community strengths and celebrate the unique contributions of each member. Requirements / QualificationsPosition Overview Single subject teachers leverage a culturally relevant curriculum aligned with charter school guidelines to teach their subject area effectively. They continuously develop and refine a high-level, challenging curriculum while maintaining ongoing evaluation and updates to meet the diverse needs of students. Collaborating with other faculty, the educator employs appropriate instructional approaches tailored to various learning styles and needs. They implement curriculum and instruction in alignment with PLN's mission, emphasizing academic, social, and emotional learning, as well as student wellness. Adhering to the PLN Behavior Support Plan grounded in Restorative Practices, the educator facilitates the resolution of issues involving students and families. They assess student performance frequently and objectively and carry out additional projects and duties as directed by their supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of education from a regionally accredited college or university. Holds a current clear Single Subject teaching credential with appropriate subject matter authorization in area of assignment issued by the California State Department of Education Commission on Teachers Credentialing. We welcome new teachers yet prefer teachers with any years of experience teaching in a public, charter and/or private school setting. Strong written and oral communication skills in English are required, and we celebrate linguistic diversity, valuing the unique perspectives and strengths that multilingual team members bring to our organization. Travel Requirements: 0 – 10% within Los Angeles County.
