We’re currently looking for a Simulation Specialist to join our Simulations & Control Department in the Marine and Power Conversion business.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting the development of advanced control systems, power conversion, and performance optimization for industrial and marine applications. You’ll work alongside a highly skilled R&D team and contribute to cutting-edge simulation frameworks used across our product development lifecycle.
Job ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
Develop and maintain dynamic system models for power electronic systems and industrial drives
Simulate and analyze control algorithms, thermal behavior, and electromagnetic performance
Collaborate closely with control engineers, hardware designers, and product development teams
Support model-based development and verification processes in line with Danfoss quality standards
Interpret simulation results to optimize product functionality and improve design iterations
Ensure integration of simulation tools and workflows across relevant engineering teams
Document modeling approaches and share best practices across the global engineering community
Background & SkillsWe imagine you have a strong technical foundation and an analytical mindset, with the ability to simplify complexity through simulation.
Required qualifications:
Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Engineering, or similar
3+ years of experience in system-level simulation of power electronic systems
Proficiency in simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, Modelica, or similar platforms
Solid understanding of control theory, power electronics, and electromechanical systems
Experience working in a product development or applied research environment
Strong collaboration and communication skills – ability to work across disciplines
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with digital twin concepts or real-time simulation (e.g., HIL)
Knowledge of marine systems, microgrid control, or renewable energy conversion is a plus
Familiarity with scripting and automation of simulation workflows (e.g., Python, MATLAB)
