Wabtec’s Digital Intelligence Signaling & Systems team is a recognized industry leader in the successful delivery of complex integrated system projects. These projects involve signaling, train control, communications, and back-office solutions with a strong focus on project execution, schedule adherence, and customer satisfaction.

How will you make a difference?

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical / Computer Engineer to join our team as a Railroad Signal Engineer. This is an entry level position ideal for individuals who are eager to learn and grow in the railway signaling industry, in which we design, build and implement safety critical railroad traffic control systems and railroad-highway grade crossings. You’ll receive hands-on training and mentorship while contributing to real-world projects that support safe and efficient rail operations

What do we want to know about you?

You must have:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronic, computer or mechanical engineering; or computer science. Equivalent work experience in the railroad signal industry is acceptable in lieu of educational requirementKnowledge of accepted railway industry quality standards, AREMA guidelines, FRA regulations, and customer specific requirements, preferred but not mandatory Must become familiar with individual customer’s standards as a part of the check process Proficient with MS Office suite (Excel, Office Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio and Word)Strong written and verbal communications skillse-RAILSAFE and Roadway Worker Protection Certification (can attain on the job)

What will your typical day look like?

A Signal Engineer I, you will work under the guidance of experienced engineers to:

Assist in the circuit design of wayside and crossing signal systemsLearn and support programming of Vital Logic Controllers (VLC) and Wayside Interface Units (WIU)Participate in project scope and design reviews with your manager and project leadsHelp manage project files and documentation using our document control systemEnsure version control and accuracy of deliverablesLearn and apply industry standards, including American Railway and Maintenance-of-way (AREMA) and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulationsCollaborate with engineers and project leads to keep tasks aligned with project schedule.Contribute to quality assurance documentationPerform other tasks as assigned while gaining exposure to various aspects of the engineering process

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between

$54,700.00-$72,500.00

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com. Other benefit offerings for this role may include an annual bonus, if eligible.
